Hello, I am Jessica Dixon Heitman and I am honored to serve as your State Representative for the 97th District.

To me, being a State Representative is not about a title. It is about service. It is about listening to the people who call our communities home, understanding what matters to their families, and making sure their voices are heard in Springfield.

I believe that strong communities begin with strong families. I want every family in our district to have the opportunity to build a safe, stable, and successful future. That means supporting our public schools, investing in our communities, making sure families can access the resources they need, and working to make Illinois a place where people can afford to live, work, and raise their families.

I believe in the importance of our local businesses and the people who work for them. Our small businesses are more than storefronts — they are our neighbors, employers, community partners, and an important part of what makes our communities unique. I will continue to advocate for policies that help local businesses grow and succeed.

I also believe strongly in the value of working people and organized labor. Workers deserve respect, fair opportunities, safe workplaces, and the ability to build a secure future for themselves and their families.

Our public schools are another priority close to my heart. Every child deserves access to a quality education, and our schools deserve the resources they need to give students the best possible opportunities. Investing in our schools is an investment in the future of our entire community.

But my work doesn't stop at the State Capitol.

If you are having trouble navigating a state agency, looking for information about a state program, trying to find resources for your family, or simply want to share a concern, my office is here to help. You should never feel like you have to figure out state government on your own.

I want my office to be a place where people feel heard, respected, and welcomed — whether you need assistance, have an idea, or simply want to tell me what is happening in your community.

I may represent you in Springfield, but this is your community, and your voice should help shape the work I do.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the families, workers, small businesses, educators, seniors, and communities of the 97th District. I will continue listening, learning, and working every day to make sure our community has a strong voice in Springfield.
