Call 911 if you are experiencing an immediate threat to your safety or need urgent medical, fire, or police assistance.
You should call 911 for situations such as:
Medical emergencies
Fires
Car accidents involving injuries
Crimes in progress
Immediate threats to your safety
Missing or endangered persons
Other situations requiring immediate police, fire, or medical assistance
Call 911 — Emergency assistance is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Suicide hotline
If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, emotional distress, or thoughts of suicide, help is available.
Call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
You do not have to be in immediate danger to contact 988. Trained crisis counselors are available to provide support and help connect you with additional resources.
Child Protective Services
Everyone has a role in helping keep children safe. If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, you can report your concerns to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911.
